Unicom

UNICOM® SYSTEM

Unicom is the generic name for the family of support tools developed by machinehealers to provide advanced technical solutions, a closed loop embodiment of automated service utilising an array of advanced technologies.

Unicom facilitates the feedback of fully or partially automated collection, transmission, storage, evaluation, interpretation, and possible correction of data within a support role to production equipment and maintenance systems.

Like a jigsaw puzzle there are many individual pieces to Unicom however, in contrast with the conventional jigsaw Unicom can be assembled in myriad combinations to form many different pictures.

Unicom systems are used throughout all facets of machinehealers business and can be tailored to suit service provision and support in virtually any environment. Unicom evolved in consultation with all key elements of the machinehealers core business group and was designed and developed entirely by our own team of highly skilled IT Technicians.

There are

  • modules which monitor the environment; temperature, humidity and pressure
  • modules for velocity, voltage, current, angle and weight

plus

  • an audiovisual monitoring package (Delta Cat)
  • an interface to allow active support of equipment to be controlled and modified to suit the wear and tear, age or environmental degradation of equipment

Unicom also lies at the very nucleus of the entire machinehealers service management ethos.

Integrating leading edge technology i.e. the very latest PDA’s, with remote diagnostic tools such as Delta Cat, TIPS (our own constantly updated ‘fix’ database) and our own advanced densitometry solutions, we are able to acquire, analyze, monitor, transmit and control data and communications in real time, through our own Service Management system.

These tools improve quality and efficiency across the entire gamut of services we are able to provide resulting in tangible benefits for the customer.

Other Features of Unicom include;

  • Monitoring tools that enable detailed remote system performance analysis and control e.g. advanced densitometry solutions, incorporating USB technology enabling immediate data analysis, diagnostics and monitoring, invaluable in the field of Imaging process control.
  • Delta Cat, an award winning remote diagnostic audiovisual tool that enables Technical Specialists to asses and offer support to engineers or operators on site via a headset mounted camera and microphone. Delta Cat is designed to transmit video and sound in real time via conventional telephone lines.

The ability for Field Engineers to view all current jobs listed in order of priority via a configured mobile communication device. This could be anything from an enabled mobile phone, a Blackberry or XDA type device.
  • Engineers can close all jobs (including parts fitted or to be ordered) via their mobile device
  • Unicom utilises our own in-house service management system but can be developed to integrate any other Service Management package as required, including AS400 and Oracle based systems
  • Job information is available to engineers via PDA (including outstanding parts to fit on site.)
  • TIPS – a machinehealers development that enables engineers to draw upon our extensive knowledge of known fixes and which is regularly updated by engineers then verified before release.

Field managers can view all open jobs plus the current location and status of all engineers in their area via the Unicom system.
  • All engineer car stock can be controlled through Unicom
  • Customised web views are available to customers allowing them to view the current status of all jobs currently open for them in real time.
