Training

The quality of employee training has proved a major contributory factor in the success of CMS (GB) with the company providing training courses tailored to suit the specific needs of individuals.

In the field of Imaging, Technical Specialists and experienced Senior Engineers attend manufacturer’s own training courses whenever a new range of equipment or individual model is released.  ‘In house’ Training Courses are then developed and conducted for the Field Service team to attend in small groups with Engineers required to attain pre-defined ‘pass’ levels (through graded written examinations) before being exposed to any new piece of equipment.

Ongoing training is standard practice for the Engineering team as the company strives to improve first time fix rates and customer confidence.  Individuals are always encouraged to highlight any area where they feel further training may be advantageous to themselves or their peers and importantly to the benefit of the customer.

In addition to the traditional ‘Breakdown’, ‘Servicing’ and ‘Set Up & Balance’ courses, specific areas are identified and targeted for individual machine types e.g. Advanced Breakdown and Computer Rebuild courses have been written explicitly for the Fuji Frontier systems.

As the Medical and ATM markets are rapidly becoming major growth areas of our business, further and more in-depth X-Ray and Cash Machine training is ongoing… again with the full support and cooperation of manufacturers.  In both disciplines, CMS Engineers often work in the field alongside the manufacturers own staff, an exercise that helps to reinforce relationships between ourselves and manufacturers and ensures a high and consistent level of engineering.

In Dry Cleaning the wealth of experience of the engineering team has been augmented by additional training in the safe installation and maintenance of non-domestic systems (to CORGI Registration Level), and refrigeration systems.

Support and Administration staff too are also constantly monitored to evaluate the necessity for further training as technology progresses and any new systems implemented.

All CMS training is conducted with the latest Health and Safety legislation in mind, with a focus on working practices that ensure safety for both our own employees and customers alike.

We understand the importance of maintaining the highest standards of engineering and customer service in order to retain our pole position in the market place.  The benefits to the Company and individuals from good, structured training are manifold but more importantly the benefits to the customer should be even greater.
