Part of the machinehealers group, CMS (USA) Inc is an Engineering Service Provision company, it is a completely owned subsidiary of CMS (GB) Ltd based in Eastbourne, East Sussex, England since 1985.
The ensuing years have seen CMS (GB) grow to become one of the world's leading customer orientated high quality engineering service providers, including the establishment of a number of ventures in mainland Europe.
Until 2000 the overwhelming majority of our operation was dedicated to providing an array of engineering services and remote technical support to all aspects of the Photo-finishing (Imaging) industry.
Since then, we have diversified into other markets where the same levels of high quality service provision are a necessity, we are now in the process of expanding into the USA.
We now offer our unique brand of service provision across the fields of Medical, ATM (Cash Machine), Dry Cleaning and IT orientated equipment and are constantly exploring new markets where our skills and experience can be applied
In the UK we employ a field force in excess of 100 regionally based highly skilled Engineers, many of whom are multi-disciplined and who are augmented by a dedicated Technical Support team at Head Office. Customer support is enhanced by Helpline Operatives utilising remote diagnostic systems, with Technical Specialists providing additional product specific knowledge.
We also have our own Research and Development department, an experienced IT based team dedicated to developing novel solutions.from idea to finished product.
How Do We Plan To Do It In The USA?
Listening First and foremost...we listen to the customer. Whether potential or existing, our philosophy has always been to provide a service, tailored to their individual requirements and expectations, we invite input from customers and employees on how we might refine or enhance the levels of service on offer.
Flexibility From Senior Management and through all levels of the Company structure, maintaining a flexible approach and an inherent ability to adapt to the changing needs of customers and changes in the demands of the market place have been pivotal in our success and growth. This approach has also proved a vital asset in broadening the Company's business portfolio and adapting quickly to changes in legislation.
Technology CMS have always embraced and exploited new technology. This has also been a major contributory factor in the company's growth and evolution.
This is exemplified by Unicom, our own Total Service Management System. Unicom is a bespoke 'real time' system that has the ability to be configured in an infinite array of configurations to suit any environment where successful Service Management is a key factor. Designed and created entirely 'in-house' Unicom is the culmination of our many years experience in Service Provision and brings together every aspect of CMS' business and lies at the heart of day to day operations.
Our initial plans will involve the purchase of a business that is already in one of the market sectors that we understand, i.e. IT and PC supply and customisation. We are already looking into these areas but without a manager on location this has proved difficult to control.
Current Portfolio
In Imaging, our current customer portfolio ranges from single outlet independent operations, to nationwide 'high street' chains with estates in excess of 1000 systems to support.
By working in close partnership with the world's leading manufacturers, we have retained our position as industry leaders in engineering service provision across the entire range of analogue, digital and 'kiosk' imaging systems.
In Medical, we are working partners with both Ferrania and Agfa, providing engineering support throughout the UK for both conventional and new generation X-Ray and Scanning equipment.
In ATM, we are building on our successful working relationship with Diebold to provide nationwide fast response engineering support and technical back-up for a number of well known Banks and Building Societies.
CMS are currently exploring potential business opportunities, from the engineering support of Fluid Mixing Systems to the development of new Data Migration Solutions for the National Health Service.
